Coming Feburary 17th 2026 ~Southern Roots: Recipes and Stories from Mama Dip’s Daughter
A Southern Welcome
Welcome to my table, where heritage meets elegance and every recipe tells a story.
I GREW UP IN THE WARMTH of Mama Dip’s kitchen in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where cooking was never just about following recipes—it was about connecting with our roots, honoring Southern food traditions, and gathering loved ones around the table. For over five decades, I’ve had the privilege of continuing this legacy, bringing a touch of Southern sophistication and personal style to everything from classic family recipes to elegant tablescapes.
Whether you’re searching for timeless Southern recipes, looking for inspiration for your next gathering or celebration, or hoping to bring a touch of culinary storytelling to your table, I invite you to explore these pages as if you were joining me on the veranda: sweet iced tea in crystal glasses, cucumber finger sandwiches on heirloom china, and the distant melody of children’s laughter floating in the air.
My debut cookbook, Southern Roots: Recipes and Stories from Mama Dip’s Daughter—coming February 17, 2026 from Countryman Press, an imprint of W. W. Norton—has been a labor of love. It’s a chance to preserve our family’s culinary heritage while creating something new for the next generation. Inside, you’ll find recipes, reflections, and reimagined traditions—rooted in history and served with heart.
Thank you for being here. I’m so glad we’ve found each other.
With warmth and gratitude,
Spring
